[DID YOU KNOW] Legend has it that during ancient times in China, there were ten suns scorching the earth. The hero, Hou Yi, an expert archer, saved the day by shooting down nine of them, leaving just one sun to warm us. 🌞
For his heroic act, he was rewarded with the elixir of immortality, but he couldn't bear to leave his wife, Chang'e. So, he entrusted the elixir to her. One fateful day, a wicked man tried to steal the elixir, and to keep it out of his grasp, Chang'e swallowed it herself. She then floated to the moon, where she resides to this day, forever radiant. Now, every year on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month, we gather with family and friends to appreciate the full moon, enjoy delicious mooncakes, and light colorful lanterns to celebrate love, unity, and togetherness.
